Original UK Columbia/EMI one box label stereo press LP.

This is the second Pink Floyd album, originally recorded at De Lane Lea Studios, London in May 1968 and released in July. The original issue did not sell in huge numbers and by mid-1969, Columbia had been amalgamated into EMI, prompting a new label design. This was the one box black and silver Columbia/EMI label with the 'Sold In UK...' label text, which was only used for a couple of months & by 1970 it was dropped. The one box third pressings do not have this text and were in turn replaced by the two box version of the fourth press in 1971.

This is the original second issue with the black & silver one box labels and the YAX-3633-1 YAX-3634-1 Matrices & 1-GG 1-GO stampers of the second pressings.
  The Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd flipback sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner/edge wear and light laminate rubbing, with a couple of laminate creases on the front cover and a little storage rubbing on the rear cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, the EMI pink company inner is intact & in VG+ condition.   The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only a couple of faint & wispy hairlines and one or two small needle marks/scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & undamaged, with evidence of one or two faint spindle markings on each side.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud clicks, pops or skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief background noise during the run in grooves. Overall, a really nice, loud and clear listen.
  The matrix nos. are; YAX-3633-1 mother stamper 1-GG, YAX-3634-1 mother stamper 1-GO. This is one of the earliest copies of the 2nd pressing of the original 1968 UK stereo 1st issue of this album!
