Description
Up for sale, I have one of my editions of Pink Floyd's, 1973 Dark Side Of The Moon. Below is all the information I have. Please note, this is a very rare edition, it is a first run print which was the solid blue triangle with the white outline as shown, they say that it is as close to the master recordings as you will get and having listened to it, it is one of the best copies I have come across and it needs a home where it can be appreciated, it is a brilliant album. First off, the sleeve.... It does have a spot on the bottom where the seem has burst and the black paper is peeling back a bit. A few dents in the spine and the corner is a bit worn but do bear in mind, this was made in 1973 and given the years, it is in very nice condition. It folds nicely, the record comes in/out easily. There is the spot on the bottom but it is not broken all the way through so no dust/dirt can get at the album. I will provide a plastic cover with the album to protect the few cosmetic problems, which are cosmetic, so they do not become worse. The lettering is easy to read, the spine is still nice and sturdy. For the age, it is nice. I do think the paper sleeve may be new as it looks new, and the poster and stickers are missing and do not come with this copy, you are primarily buying the album itself. The price has been lowered to take this into consideration. The album itself is nice, there are a few faint scratches on the first side but they are cosmetic, the album was very dusty and I have used a vinyl brush to clean the worse off. It could do with a good deep clean. Side two is in very good condition. I do not think this record has been played that often. I have listened to it, at the beginning of side one there are a few little crackles and throughout the odd crackle, but it could be down to dust and does not detract from the music. It has a superb sound quality and there are no skips etc. On side two towards the end you hear a bit of crackling as the heartbeat fades but it could be dust related, certainly there is no reason why it should crackle, still it does not detract from the music. I also had this at a very loud volume so at quieter volumes you may or may not hear the crackling. Personally it is so little that it hardly matters but there are no skips on side two either. To be honest, I have another copy of this same year and this is far superior in quality and as it has little wear to it, just a fabulous item. The important features that make this album important are these. Album number:SHVL 804, STEREO, 1973 In the gatefold, left hand side on bottom corner, Blue lettering , Harvest Records, a company of E.M.I. Limited and additional label information On vinyl sticker, silver lettering, has both harvest and e.m.i. on sticker, 1973, 33 r.p.m., The gramphone Company Limited written on it, made in Gt. Britain, album number SHVL 804 below it (SHVL 804A), also has the rare solid blue triangle with white outline. This is supposedly the closest to the master recordings and is the first pressing according to literature I have read. Very nice pressing, the only thing missing is the stickers and the poster which DO NOT come with this copy. The price reflects that and I am well aware of the price that I could charge. I will take best offers, but only serious bids will be considered, I will not respond to bids I think are below the value this is worth. Only serious collectors are wanted. Please note, I will pack extremely well and it will be sent first class signed for. I also do not accept returns or refunds. Please make sure you are happy enough to purchase item as is before buying.
