The Gatefold Cover

The Gatefold Cover is in Very Good condition with a light wear to the corners and edge and some minimal wear to front and back but no graffiti or stains and is still all intact and clean and clear a nice example.

The Spine

The Spine is clean and clear with no graffiti and still original shape with no splits or rips retaining its original shape.

The Inner Sleeve

The Inner Sleeve is the original Black Poly lined inner in Excellent condition with no rips splits or tears and original polythene sleeve inside the inner sleeve.

The Vinyl Side 1

The Vinyl on side 1 is in Excellent condition with some hairline marks which are only noticeable when held up to a strong light and nothing deep or fellable and plays well with no pops clicks sticks or jumps. 

The Centre Side 1

The Centre on side 1 is in Excellent condition with and no surface tears or graffiti and no sign of spindle wear.

The Vinyl Side 2

The Vinyl on side 2 is in Excellent condition with some hairline marks which are only noticeable when held up to a strong light and nothing deep or fellable and plays well with no pops clicks sticks or jumps.

History

The Dark Side of the Moon is the eighth studio album by English progressive rock band Pink Floyd, released in March 1973. It built on ideas explored in the band's earlier recordings and live shows, but lacks the extended instrumental excursions that characterised their work following the departure in 1968 of founding member, principal composer and lyricist, Syd Barrett. The Dark Side of the Moon's themes include conflict, greed, the passage of time and mental illness, the latter partly inspired by Barrett's deteriorating mental state.

The suite was developed during live performances, and was premiered several months before studio recording began. The new material was recorded in two sessions in 1972 and 1973 at Abbey Road Studios in London. The group used some of the most advanced recording techniques of the time, including multi track recording and tape loops. Analogue synthesisers were given prominence in several tracks, and a series of recorded interviews with the band's road crew and others provided the philosophical quotations used throughout. Engineer Alan Parsons was directly responsible for some of the most notable sonic aspects of the album, and the recruitment of non-lexical performer Clare Torry. The album's iconic sleeve features a prism that represents the band's stage lighting, the record's lyrical themes, and keyboardist Richard Wright's request for a "simple and bold" design.

How I Grade My Vinyl

I use the latest addition of Record Collector price guide and I test my vinyl all the way threw on both sides and use a light to check the vinyl condition and will only list vinyl if it does not jump or stick unless it is a very rare LP but will always state in detail how my vinyl looks and plays. I always hold the cover up to light and check in detail for and tears or graffiti on the cover and will make sure it is all intact and clean.   

How I Post & Package My Vinyl

I send all my vinyl recorded delivery so I am covered as the seller and the buyer is covered and I can make sure the vinyl has been received. I send my vinyl in the appropriate mailers with cardboard stiffeners. The record is placed behind the cover when posted and I place them in a polythene sleeve to protect the sleeves.
