Description

An original late-1970 pressing of "MORE" on the UK Columbia label. Matrix 1G/1G - the same as 1st cut. These two-box Emi copies with Gramophone in the perimeter text were pressed between late 1970 and 1973. This particular copy comes early within that period a mere 18 months after 1st release. The cover has more in common with the copies from 1969. The rear is tinted green and the three flipbacks are showing, then there's the pinched spine. Please note importantly - the image on the rear shows the couple facing WEST [left- ha!]. Also included is the sepia toned inner advertising albums that were on release in 1970. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In beautiful condition and has clearly seen only the very lightest use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of very light marks per side nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with two exceptions. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much perfectly quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. This is really important on this release as it is one of Floyds MOST low-key efforts. Interference is going to majorly impinge on the ambience and listening experience. YOU NEED A CLEAN COPY. This one delivers a top-level rendition throughout with only two slight exceptions. When it's on form this copy will not be beaten - it's as good as any copy I've witnessed. Beautiful clarity and you can hear deep into the mix. Expect a few errant crackles in just a couple of spots per side. The only exception where the playback drops below the given grading is in "Cymbaline" & "Quicksilver". I'm picking a bit of faint background static in the odd spot. No big deal - they're just not going to quite match the heights of the rest of the LP. A small price to pay for a fantastically well preserved LP.
Cover (Ex) Wow - check it out...this copy is 50 years old and it really has survived that passage of time with apparent ease. The front is flat and lovely and shiny. The one slight let down is a couple of creases over at the opening - no big deal. It's the rear that particularly impresses and is perfectly white/green...when most nearly always AGE. This copy is as close to looking like the original day it was printed as I've ever seen. Perfectly white flipbacks are all intact. Barely any edge wear and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A supremely well preserved example.
