Description

An original 1st press of the WALL on the UK Harvest label. Matrix A6U/B3U/A3U/B3U. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue gatefold cover. These 1st issue covers are made of thicker card and are easily distinguishable from the later copies because they DO NOT exhibit the band members names in purple directly above the 'baby in the cell'. Also  included are the 1st issue thicker card inner sleeves with round corners and the thumb-notch at the top. There's NO attachable sticker so we're 100% genuine and 99% complete. The LPs will be shipped in custom poly-line inners for maximum protection during transit.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen very light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of very light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with a couple of slight deviations. Intros and inbetweens are really very quiet and the audio come across with perfect clarity. And you're really going to need this with THE WALL. Anything else is just going to detract from the listening experience. Insist on the very best copy you can possibly get your hands on as when the WALL is played from a super clean top-copy...the audio performance is nothing short of divine. This copy plays clean and is within the best dozen copies I've witnessed. Importantly, it plays clean the whole way through..and that's the tricky thing to find as the WALL plays delicate across a large portion of four sides! Someone really has to have taken great care of it to survive this passage of time in tip top condition. Apart from being a massive fan of THE WALL..I can highly recommend this copy as THE BEST possible way of taking in THE WALL. All the atmosphere and anguish are there for you to soak up. Nothing vaguely nasty in the background to interfere with Water's magnum opus. You might detect a few isolated crackles in a couple of spots per side - otherwise very little at all...The deviations are a couple of minor ticks in the 2nd half of side 2 [no big deal at all]...and one slight tick in the opening seconds of the very 1st track on the album. Even the super fussy tracks like 'MOTHER' play superbly. This is about as good as it's realistically possible to find....
Cover (Ex) A beautiful specimen which seems to have avoided the dreaded ageing problems that usually afflict these '79 1st issues. All I can make out are very low-level handling front and back, with a minuscule bump to the top left edge [one inch from the spine]. the interior is immaculate - no issues at all. Edge wear is very minor indeed and the openings still sharp. The spine is 100% intact with just faintest touch of ageing. Overall the cover lies totally flat and retains perfect rigidity. A really impressive original example.
Inners (Ex/Ex+) No wear. Barely any signs of ageing. No marking. No splits. Nice!
