Porcupine Tree - Stupid Dream still sealed gray vinyl Gates of Dawn issue

Stupid Dream, released in 1999, was the fifth album by Porcupine Tree, and represented the beginning of a transitionary period for the band as they became more pop-oriented and less psychedlic in their sound.  The album was well received; AllMusic gave the album four and a half stars, saying Wilson as a songwriter and singer both sounds recharged and more ambitious, while the group collectively pours it on. The loud passages feel truly sky-smashing, the calmer ones perfectly close, and the overall sense of build and drama -- "A Smart Kid" is a fine example spot-on."

Stupid Dream was briefly issued on vinyl on the small Gates of Dawn label in 2006 as a two record set in two versions, with one on black vinyl, and one on gray marbled vinyl.  Both albums were issued in high-quality, gatefold covers.

The vinyl edition of the album included two extra songs that were not on the compact disc -Ambulance Chasing, and a 14 minute version of Even Less.

THE RECORD

The copy offered for sale is an original, still sealed copy of the gray marbled vinyl issue, still in its loose, perforated shrink wrap.  As released, there was no indication on the cover or the wrap as to whether the records contained inside were black or colored vinyl.

Only 1000 copies of this gray vinyl version were pressed.

There is a 1 1/2" cut in the wrap at the mouth of the cover that was made in order to determine the color of the records, which are gray.  Aside from that there are no issues with the record whatsoever; it's still sealed and effectively brand new.

As the album is still sealed, the records in this two record set are unplayed and believed to be perfectly mint.

The records in this set are pressed on high-quality gray marbled virgin vinyl.

This record is an original 2006 American pressing of a an album originally released on compact disc only in 1999.  This record is not a counterfeit, reproduction, or import pressing.
