Up for sale is a Mint, Still Sealed copy of the super rare Promise - Self Titled record, released privately on the Cumulus label in 1980.
Recorded in 1978, this is a mega hard to find power pop gem. Some of the tracks have a harder edge and are equally as fantastic. Oddly enough, it's also listed in the Acid Archives: "This Beatlesque power pop album somehow briefly became a 'psych' collectable, probably because it's a rare private press LP that was discovered by a few dealers who specialize in psych. So, while I wouldn't suggest anyone mistake it for something it's not, I recommend it to guitar pop fans. It has an early Beatles vibe but the guitars are tougher and there are a few moderate hardrock songs on it. The songs are consistently good, as is the singing; this is the kind of rarity the power pop fans drool over..." - Acid Archives, 2nd Edition.
That review is an understatement. It's one of my favorite power pop full lengths. Get it and enjoy this total heat. Not easy to find.
