the very first film soundtrack taken directly from a full length film and transcribed to records, walt disney's SNOW WHITE & THE SEVEN DWARFS. issued during the film's release in december of 1937 on 3 10 inch 78 RPM records in their own individual RCA VICTOR paper sleeves. these were carefully inserted into a yellow and blue thicker paper envelope which has a gorgeous full color illustration plate tip-in by gustaf tenggren the genius that disney hired to oversee the 'snow white' project from its inception. tenggren is a highly prized collectible children's artist who was well known also in the legitimate art circles outside the cloistered walls of the disney studio. illustration is of the 7 dwarfs crossing a log on their way home from their work at the diamond mine. images and background are breathtaking. lettering is in script and in blue against the yellow background. all 6 songs from the animated film included and, finally, THE BEST PART!!! --ALL 3 RECORDS LOOK SHINY, GLOSSY, UNPLAYED MINT!!!!!! their individual RCA interior sleeves are also near perfect while outside illustrated envelope is, by far, the best we've ever seen. we've seen 3 complete sets in 35 years and numerous individual single records. ALL had defects and problems!! i'd venture to say that this set is the finest conditioned set extant!!! think of how rare a set like this is to come by. 78 RPM records are, of course, the victims of chips, cracks, dirt and grime IF they survive--what are the odds of a full set in UNPLAYED condition???? a key piece of vintage disneyana in impeccable condition and CONDITION IS WHAT IT"S ALL ABOUT!!!!! for the snow white and/or disneyana completist who wants to know that they have the BEST EXAMPLE of a fragile, perhaps one of a kind classic vintage disney collectible---this is NOT for the thrift buyer who will settle for lesser conditioned material.
