Description
This is certainly a rare set of six double-sided original 12" recordings. These broadcasts discs are in spectacular condition.
There are three speeches as follows:
June 18, 1940 THIS WAS THEIR FINEST HOUR 4 PARTS
July 14, 1940 THE WAR OF THE UNKNOWN WARIORS 4 PARTS
Sept 11, 1940 Every Man To His Post 2 PARTS
As a bonus, there are two other discs that have four of six parts of his speech, FIVE YEARS AS PRIME MINISTER. Un- fortunately Parts 1 and two are missing. However, the opening bid is based on only the three complete speeches.
These actual broadcasts, after being produced for RCA in America, had probably very few sold. Although there are advertisements for a number of his speeches on CD, I don't think these original recordings were used.
It's always exciting to actually hear this marvelous man, because I consider him to be one of the greatest individuals in recent history. I believe everybody should understand what he meant to Great Britain and the rest of the world during war and peace. Other than listening to the records that are listed here, one can gain much insight into the man by reading his books, which are available everywhere!
As rare as this listing is, I will still place a very reasonable opening bid on it, and with NO RESERVE.
