We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Lord Sitar is an album of cover versions as diverse as ‘I Can See For Miles’ and ‘If I Were A Rich Man’ from the sitar of the late great guitar legend Big Jim Sullivan. On its initial release in 1968 there were rumors that the Lord was in fact George Harrison!

Lord Sitar was, in fact, the alias for renowned session musician and guitar virtuoso Big Jim Sullivan who, in 1966 and 1967, found himself in the enviable position of being the only established session guitarist in England to own a sitar. By 1967, that attribute had turned him into a valuable commodity, mostly because of the instrument's being popularized by George Harrison of the Beatles, and Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones on various of their respective groups' recordings. Someone at EMI studios in England, which already owned the real article in raga rock in the form of George Harrison's Beatles recordings -- decided that they needed an album to compliment the popular "now" sound form of 1968 exotic music. Thus was born "Lord Sitar," as he was billed, with Sullivan working under producer John Hawkins. The Lord Sitar album managed to get reviewed even in the pages of Rolling Stone (then the Bible of rock music), thanks to the mystery surrounding "Lord Sitar" and the fact that the album appeared on Capitol Records in America, some people suspected (encouraged by Hawkins' sleeve notes) that there was some direct connection between Lord Sitar and George Harrison. There was, indeed, but only in the crassest way, and only from one side, and not even involving the musicians. Ironically, the ruse might've worked if only Hawkins hadn't selected such bizarre material (not just "If I Were a Rich Man," but also "Daydream Believer," Kim Fowley's "Ode to Joy" rip-off "Emerald City," and two of Hawkins' own copyrights, "Tomorrow's People" and "In a Dream") to record. The sheer bizarre nature of the project makes for wondrous listening especially in an altered state of controlled substance.
