PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP $4.00 Media; 2-4 discs $5.00; .50 each additional disc Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. RARE 1970 RADIO STATION ORIGINAL WITH ONE OF A KIND CUSTOM COVER
HEAVY FUZZZ PSYCH COLLECTIBLE
BIG BROTHER Featuring ERNIE JOSEPH
CONFUSION
\ USA - ALL AMERICAN RECORDS
SUPER RARE radio station advance release PROMOTIONAL of the highly collectible 1970 HARD PSYCH jammer BIG BROTHER (not the same group as Janis Joplins' Big Brother) ...
Here's the deal...this radio station copy has a unique one of a kind cover with hand written cover citing the promo is an "exclusive" for the West Coast radio station WSFO ... some of the track listings have CENSOR warnings directed to the D.J. as in "watch ending" on Heart Full Of Rain ... "Do not tell what the letters to the track L.L.A. stand for" [Lubricated Love Affair] -- "do not give the sub breakdown" of the 11:00 minute Gravis Delictum [sexual references]
Before Big Brother, Ernie Joseph was known as Ernie Orosco and formed several Santa Barbara California outfits including Ernie and The Emperors, Ernie's Funnys and Giant Crab who released two collectible albums on the UNI label...but nothing Ernie did before (nothing) matches this crude raw ravaged heavy psych rocker apltly titled CONFUSION...with that perfect style of heavy psych that obsesses in making lots of over the top acidic fuzz and wah sounds, while playing really cool, heavy, fuzzy riffs. Even the pretentiously progressive (but undoubtedly catchy) "Wake Me Up in the Morning" has some really nice acidic fuzz/wah-wah guitar playing.
Under his given name Ernie Orosco, front man/singer/guitarist Joseph had previously played with a number of Santa Barbara, California-based acts including Ernie and the Emporers and Ernie's Funnys. He'd also recorded a pair of interesting late-'60s albums as a member of Giant Crab. Following the breakup of Giant Crab, Orosco/Joseph apparently relocated to Los Angeles, where he formed Big Brother (not to be confused with Janis Joplin's original outfit). Backed by guitarist Cory Colt, drummer Steve Dunwoodle (aka Steve D.) and multi-instrumentalist brother Ruben (aka Ruben the Jet), the quartet attracted the attention of the small West Coast based All American label.
Produced by Bill Holmes who'd handled production for the two earlier Giant Crab LPs, 1970's "Confusion" came as a major change in direction to anyone familiar with Orosco/Joseph's earlier pop/lite-psych moves. With all four members received writing credits, material such as 'Heart Full of Rain', 'L.L.A. (Lubricated Love Affair)' and the bluesy 'Heavy Load' offered up a set of Hendrix-styled guitar expolsives. Elsewhere, the heavily phased 'E.S.P.' (sounding like a strange reworking of The Pretty Thing's 'L.S.D.') was actually a reworking of Giant Crab's final single. Given the abundance of guitar rockers the total effort is enthusiastic and its an album you may even play on a regular basis = the tunes never seem to grow tired of hearing.
