This auction is for an original pressing of the Beatles LP 'With the Beatles' on the UK Parlophone number.

When 'With the Beatles' was released at the end of 1963 the album it knocked from the number 1 spot was Please Please Me. So EMI had this overwhelming demand not only for the huge sales of the Beatles' debut album, but also their follow-up album. It's my opinion that this demand got so great at the end of 1963 that EMI contracted Decca to press a number of copies to keep on top of this demand. I believe that Decca were contracted to run off a quantity of both Please Please Me and With The Beatles album at this time.

It's very easy to spot a Decca contract pressing of With The Beatles as it features the very prominent Decca 'ring' and also the smaller 'polo' sized inner indentation.

The number of copies pressed by Decca only amounted to a very small percentage of overall copies produced and are very hard to find!

The Cover : VG

The cover is holding up nicely with no splits or tears or anything, but does have the usual, light wear and tear you see on these covers. The front is clean but with a little laminate rubbing and disc impression and there's some creases in the corners and along the edges. The white areas have creamed a little. The top seam has a tiny, little knock in the middle but is holding tightly. The bottom seam is holding tight with no splits or tears or anything. The spine has a few creases running through it but has not split or torn and is holding tight with fully legible text. The back has creamed and browned slightly with a few little, light stains. There's some light disc impression and a few creases in the overflaps. Overall, looking nicer than how these covers have usually ended up after nearly 53 years!   Inner Sleeve : EX++

The original tissue paper lined Emitex inner sleeve is included. It's looking incredible for its age! There are no splits, no tears, no stains and just a little light creasing and disc impression as you can see in the photo above. Great inner sleeve!   Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : EX+++

The playing surface has a beautiful, crisp shine to it and has nothing more than just some very light, very faint little scuffs here and there. Overall the playing surface is looking incredible for its age - the vast majority of these original records turn up completely trashed and it's incredibly difficult to find any copy VG+ or better, but this is looking fantastic!

Labels : EX+

The labels are clean with bright, sharp silver text. There's no stains or tears or writing, and just a little spindlewear around the centrehole along with a touch of whitening as you can see in the photos above. Great labels!
