This really was the birth of progressive rock! It was the Beatles' 9th Lp and what an imapact it had. and still does have. Released on the 1st of June 1967, the album reached number 1 across the board, staying at number 1 for 23 weeks!! With a total of 148 weeks in the charts!!

She does have some light marks to her...I gave her a gentle professional Vacuum clean and then listened to her all the way through and this is what I found:
Lovely quiet run-ins...The audio kicks in with a great thump and continues on with a lovely rich audio and the occasional very light amount of slight background noise in very brief sections. Once the needle gets to the visible marks on side 1 I noticed some only brief and light revolutionary pops on tracks, 3,4 & 5...Which were more noticeable at the very start of track 4..Nothing terrible at all and this was when using my arm on the lightest setting-she played over without any jumps or skips.
The bass line was lovely, clean and clear on Mr Kite, with some great escalation I hadn't noticed before-it is that clear!
At the start of side 2 I noticed 9 light revolutionary pops at the start but then fade away into nothing as the 1st track gets going.
An utterly pristine When I'm 64 was superb!...Onto a magical echo at the end of Lovely Rita and into Lennons ghostly voice shining out on A Day In The Life...
So, as you can see...the audio does remain clear for the majority and I even noticed a few little sections I hadn't heard before:)
The STEREO reproduction still sounds ground breaking!

 It is the ORIGINAL FOOLS FLAME die-cut inner with the 'PATENTS APPLIED FOR' to the bottom right corner as well as 'MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN.'
NO writing
There is a split to the bottom seam and a smaller split to the right hand seam.
REMAINS AS VIBRANT IN COLOUR TODAY AS IT WAS WHEN BORN 54 YEARS AGO!

Cut-Outs:

 Superb...Deep green colour.
EVEN THE CORNERS REMAIN SHARP.
Nothing else needs to be said!


Cover:
VG(+).
It is the much rarer "PATENTS PENDING" cover!
The front cover remains lovely and vibrant, as is the back cover and the inner picture.
There are some spidering crescents to the front and to the back, as well as a line of spidering to the left on the front and the left on the back-but not offensive at all as the colours really detract the eye from this.
The corners have some light rubbing and knocking, with the spine remaining solid, legible and perfectly intact.
"PRINTED AND MADE BY GARROD & LOFTHOUSE Ltd. PATENTS PENDING"
Very rare indeed to find this cover as it was quickly changed to the same as above, but without the Patents Pending.
CORRECT cover, with "Stereo" to the back top right corner.
ORIGINAL 1st print flipbacks present.
Still opens with the crackle as if for the first day :)
