Welcome to our Fall ebay auctions. This auction is for an incredibly rare ‘45 record. A PROMOTIONAL COPY of JACK MONTGOMERY’s Dearly Beloved / Do You Believe it . On SCEPTER RECORDS, #SCE 12152. From Answers.com I learned: “ Jack Montgomery, born Marvin Tyrone Jones, is one of the finest singers ever to emerge from Detroit, Michigan. He, unfortunately, managed to avoid recording on every influential recording company in the Motor City, and only released four known singles on as many labels. The 45's are hot items among Northern Soul Collectors, and rightfully so, Montgomery could blow! the next release on the larger, more prestigious Scepter Records entitled "Dearest Beloved," had it all, and has made Montgomery a Northern Soul Legend. It was co-written by Mancha, and is available under two different titles: "Dearest Beloved," and "My Dearest Beloved," depending on the pressing. Scepter never got behind the record, and it saw no chart action.†Interesting point is this is titled DEARLY BELOVED, not Dearest. One RARE and Terrific Record - never mind this is a PROMOTIONAL RECORD! Fresh out of a collection. SIZE 45 rpm CONDITION As shown, generic sleeve, record label is marked in black marker “X†on dearly beloved side showing that is the side the DJ wanted to play. Reverse side has a few black marks on label. Record itself is excellent, no scratches we could detect. Some extremely light age spots only visible when held to light like we did for the photo. '45 looks much better than photo - we want to show it in it's worst light. Nice gloss and black, showing it was seldom played and then stored in a collection. SHIPPING Shipping from zip code 03104.
