In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Very rare 1967 first pressing with laminated cover of the one and only GLOOMY's album. First couple of Bee Gees albums meet the mid '60s Beatles & UK Poprock styles deliver a unique sound for a German band that sounds like it was part of the '67 london scene...maybe some of the LORDS music is similar. This one and only Lp fetches high prices and has for some time now, it's extremely hard to find clean as this one is (see below) ...
The relatively few pre-Krautrock German rock bands to have received some attention among international collectors tend to have a fairly raw, garage/R&B-flavored sound, like the Lords, Boots, and Rattles. In contrast, the Gloomys, their name to the contrary, recorded material with more similarities to the early Bee Gees & Beatles side of '60s U.S. and U.K. pop/rock. Most of the material on their 1967 album Daybreak was original, the album is filled with Carnaby Swinging London upbeat stuff with lavish productions. Some "Pepperland" productions and vaguely mod-ish, it's-our-time attitude in some of the songs offer elements that fans of the light British pop-psychedelia and American sunshine pop might glom onto...
These guys were actually pretty good musicians, capable of generating some decent pop and rock numbers - anyone doubting that need only check out their original 'King and Queen'.
CONDITION: The cover: The very fragile and highly colorful laminated cover is in great shape for a 45+ year old rarity such as this, "EX" (excellent) and would have been rated M- if not if for a small delete at bottom right corner...no bends, no writing and no split seams....
The vinyl: bright and shiny clean, rated M- one of the nicest copies you'd hope to find ... both old style Columbia labels are clean, real clean.
