Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.

RARE and highly sought collectible 1968 ORIGINAL first pressing on the also sought/collected RAINBOW Capitol label of the sixties ... in a no longer produced styled "uni-pac" gatefold cover.
Really nice electrified acid-folk with a very strong Americana feel to it in the vein of Jefferson Airplane ...or there abouts....if they had been even more experimentally varied.
If nothing else, their musical-instruments line-up should warn one that The Insect Trust was not your run--of-the-mill late 1960s rock and roll outfit.
The group's talent pool consisted of guitarists Bill Barth and Luke Faust, reed players Trevor Koelhler and Robert Palmer and vocalist/keyboard player Nancy Jeffries.
Even though they were one of the era's more eclectic outfits and attracted little notice (and even fewer sales), their out-and-out experimentation had a substantial impact on music and if you're willing to make the investment of time and energy (and a bit of money), getting into their output can be a rewarding experience.
Having previously played in The Solip Singers (with 'Holy Modal Rounder' Pete Stampfel), by 1968 Barth and Jeffries had moved on to form The Insect Trust (the name reportedly inspired by Bill Lebvy's poetry journal The Insect Trust Gazette). In the process they scored a contract with Capitol Records (legend has it , while at a party, hearing a particularly unique snipet of their music on a stereo, Barth told a fellow guest he wasn't blown-away by the segment - the fellow guest happened to be Steve Duboff who had produced it)
Produced by Duboff, the INSECT TRUST's self-titled 1968 only LP offered up an impossible to describe aural selection of influences. With all five members contributing material "The Insect Trust" somehow managed to incorporate influences ranging from 1920s-era anti-war tracks ('World War I Song'), rural rock ('Foggy River Bridge Fly'), psych, jazz, discordant avant garde (the second half of 'The Skin Game'), blues (the blazing 'Special Rider Blues') and what would even pass as a precursor to today's world music genre ('Going Home').
Propelled by Nancy Jeffries' crystalline voice and the band's penchant for wway-out styled unusual instrumentation and bizarre arrangements (often within the same song), to these ears the results were simply fascinating. Personal favorites; the mesmerizing 'Miss Fun City' and the sweet melodic 'Been Here and Gone So Soon'. Clearly too unusual for radio (to say nothing of the rank-and-file pop mainstream), the album instantly vanished from 'in print' availability, and has always been hard to find -even upon first release
IF somehow found will always have cover-wear to the extremely prone-to-wear dark/bright psychedelic cover design; this original unipac gatefold, the best ever seen - no wear final collection artifact value-riser!!
