Up for auction is a Scarce, Hand-Numbered Limited Edition 4-Record Box Set of, The Complete Blue Note Recordings of The Tina Brooks Quintets. Santa Monica, CA: Mosaic Records. Four complete long-play records along with the original illustrated book. Limited to only 7500 sets, whereas this is number #2925 as so stated inside the cover of the enclosed book. The 16-page book includes a detailed essay by Michael Cuscuna discussing the life and jazz career of Brooks (1932-1974); an essay about the quintet, original liner notes and a discography. The vinyl is lustrous and nearly flawless, no marks, scuffs or scratches – looks to be never played; the book is in excellent condition and the sturdy original clamshell box is in near mint condition. Overall, a very nice set.
