These 2 collectable 7" vinyl singles were previously owned by our friend,Tokyo Blade lead vocalist Alan Marsh, and recently passed on to us.
Back in the early 1980's, the band were named Genghis Khan, but unfortunately another band were already laying claim to that name, and so the new (and now legendary) band name of Tokyo Blade was born.
The problem was that these 2 vinyl singles had already just been released under the Genghis Khan name, and so the singles had to be recalled. The 2 records that were in the original Genghis Khan sleeve were then re-released as the Tokyo Blade singles here for sale now.
Alan told us that at the time, that he and the band had to painstakingly paste new Tokyo Blade labels over the original Genghis Khan "Double Dealin" labels before they could be re-released!
If you look closely (when you receive them) you can still just see the original labels underneath.
So here we have the 2 singles under the name of Tokyo Blade, and as a real collectable bonus, you will also receive the original Genghis Khan "Double Dealin" sleeve (which they were originally released in).
When sold in 1983, only the Tokyo Blade singles were available for sale, as the Ghengis Khan "Double Dealin' singles were recalled after a short period, and re-released under the Tokyo Blade name. So this outer sleeve, one of a small number that the band kept, and now passed on to me by Alan, is a highly rare collectable item for Tokyo Blade fans! This set is one of only a couple lots left, when they are gone, that will be it.
The 2 vinyls in the Tokyo Blade sleeves (as they have been received direct from Alan) are incredibly still in like new mint condition and never been played. The "Double Dealin" sleeve does show light storage wear.
A really rare and highly collectable lot for any Blade fan worldwide.
