The original Elektra Records inner sleeve is included

"The MC5 not only talked about revolution, we believed it," guitarist Wayne Kramer recalled. "The part about destroying the government and taking over and shooting it out with the pigs and all that--that didn't work. But the other part about the concept of possibilities, the revolution of ideas--that has changed the world."

Indeed, the power of those ideas remains undiminished on the group's greatest album, its 1968 debut, "Kick Out the Jams."

"When the Detroit uprising jumped off, we thought the beginning of the end had arrived, and we were busy planning for the 'post-revolutionary construction' which would start with the victory of the insurrection," MC5 manager John Sinclair reflects -- "But the fantasy ended with the brutal suppression of the slave revolt in the streets and the gun-butts of the National Guard and U.S. Army troops who beat our door down and threatened to shoot us all on the spot." The musicians of the MC5 would later say that they'd always been less interested in fomenting revolution than in being a great rock band. And in the end, it was the MC5's music that was the most revolutionary.

CONDITION: The Cover: The thick cover, overall very solid: Id say it looks great with just light shelf wear, especially for a record that is over 40 yrs old.   The only minor ring wear is on the back side of the cover towards the top....see pics!  Has no writing on it and no cuts ... def a collectors piece.  The upper top left corner on the front is just slightly starting to show some age, it is verrrrry minor.  You can tell this was kept in someones collection but not used.  So any wear seems to be from just hanging on a record shelf.   I HAVE TRIED MY BEST TO DESCRIBE ALL PARTS OF THIS RECORD but PLEASE SEE PICS and PLEASSSSSSE ask any and all questions BEFORE the bidding ends.  I'll be glad to help or send more pics if you need :)

The Vinyl: is all glossy all over, M- TOP COPY  Light finger print marks that I'd think could be cleaned off.  Otherwise looks almost unplayed to me.  all plays with eXcellent audio = fully enjoyable... clean WHITE PROMO Elektra labels.
