RCA LSC 1806 STRAUSS, Also Sprach Zarathustra, Fritz Reiner, Chicago Symphony, (recorded in1954): This is the original 1s/1s, A1/A1 shaded dog pressing – it is NOT a reissue. It is one of the best and rarest of all the RCA living stereo shaded dogs, and the sound and ambiance are spectacular. It has a very wide and deep sound-stage with huge dynamics. The vinyl surfaces are clean, glossy and quiet with no pops, clicks or skips. There are a few very light scuff marks that are barely visible and do not sound. There is a very light scratch at the start of side 1 that is only visible in certain lighting and does not make any sound, and there is a very tiny pressing bubble at the end of side 2 that sounds softly just as the music is ending. Because of these two imperfections, I have reduced the vinyl grading from NM to EX. This is an almost perfect copy that plays beautifully. The labels are clean with no spindle marks, but some light smudges (see photos). The jacket is clean and in VG+ condition with no splits, except for a slight ding on the upper right corner (see photos). In summary, this is an ALMOST perfect 1s/1s, A1/A1 copy of this highly sought after golden age recording. Feel free to return for full refund if not completely satisfied.
