Description
You may listen to sound clips of both songs by clicking on the links below!
Jackie Opel "I Am What I Am", Jackie Mittoo and The Skatalites "Devil's Bug" An absolute killer double header from Studio One, this is the original 1967 UK release on Rio, (R 117) and is definitely one of the best singles on the label, if in doubt check the sound clips!
Visually the A side is perfect and the B side has one very light radial scuff mark, though this is one of those pressings that is of a slightly lesser quality.
The A side plays with a tiny amount of noise, (Probably due to the pressing). The B side has slight noise at the start and the hint of a feint click, the sound improves as the tune progresses.
Both labels are lovely with just a tiny black mark on the A side.
This is a fantastic and rare record especially in this near perfect condition, the A side is a killer vocal, the B side is almost a Jazz tune with great exchanges between the brass players and little echoes of their band training at the Alpha Boys School.
