ROGER RODIER "Upon Velveatur" ORIG Columbia LP Canadian Psych Folk RARE MINT-

Auction is for a RARE ORIGINAL CANADIAN-ONLY 1st PRESSING of ROGER RODIER'S "UPON VELVEATUR" LP from 1972 on Columbia Records. A record that hardly requires any introduction whatsoever, this Canadian folk psych gem is truly one that seems to appeal to everyone... and it's certainly no wonder why as this is top-of-the-heap stuff! This is the more elusive 1st pressing with really the only difference being the earlier Columbia label; it unfortunately doesn't include the insert/booklet. Cover has suffered some moisture damage all across bottom. As a result, there's some very slight rippling at bottom 2-3" of jacket opening, light brown stain that comes up 3-4" across bottom of cover and a couple 2-3" tears on bottom of back cover (see 2nd photo). Thankfully, it does not smell of mildew, mold, etc. and despite the above, it's certainly not as bad as it sounds as you can see from the photos. Cover also has slight ringwear and a tiny bit of seamwear at top/bottom (no splitting). Oddly enough though, the record is absolutely flawless and looks unplayed. May be an opportunity for someone with a nice cover and/or 2nd press from a year later (as the 2nd press cover is exactly the same as the 1st press) to upgrade as well.
