ROLPH SCHROEDER, violin, using the curved bow plays J. S. Bach: Complete Works for Solo Violin (Sonata in G minor; Partita in A minor; Sonata in A minor; Partita in D minor; Sonata in C major; Partita in E major) – Mega Rare Original U.S. Mono 3 LP Oversized Box Set on Columbia SL-189 (ML 4743 / ML 4744 / ML 4745). Includes an integrated 2 page insert with notes by Albert Schweitzer. Original Early Columbia Grooved Blue/Silver Labels – Recorded September, 1952, in the Parish Church, Gunsbach, Alsace, under the supervision of Albert Schweitzer, and using the curved bow of Bach’s time – Mega rare, very seldom offered item.
Box Condition:
Front Box: VG++ (small tear on the left black strip)
Back Box: VG+ (some repaired tears and scratches)
Spine: VG++/NM-
Box Internals: VG++
Record Condition:
The 3 records appear to be in overall VG/VG+ condition, with some light surface hairlines/scratches. They play with some background surface noise/ticks/clicks, occasional pops and repetitive thuds, but these flaws never overpower the violin sound which plays loud, undistorted and enjoyably.
