ROSEMARY HARDMAN & BOB AXFORD - SECOND SEASON CAME

A beautiful condition and eminently presentable copy, along with superb sound quality, of this exceedingly rare and sought after 1971 UK original press folk gem, with earliest A-1U / B-1U vinyl matrix numbers on the coveted silver text upon red matt background 1st press Trailer record label, STEREO, LER 3018

The dead wax matrix numbers are :

Side 1    LER 3018 A - 1U with stampers "1" and "G" at 10 o'clock and 4 o'clock respectively

Side 2    LER 3018 B - 1U with stampers "1" and "G" at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock respectively

A beautiful condition copy of this original 1971 folk gem rarity with gleaming, jet black sheen, sparingly played, and earliest A-1U/B-1U matrix vinyl - just a few wispy hairlines & light paper scuffs on each side including a slightly more noticeable (but still purely superficial) 3cm line scuff on side 2, only really detectable under a bright light; superb silver text/red matt background coveted Trailer labels - perfect apart from just a few small & very faint spindle trails on each label; wonderful condition original non-laminated MacNeill Press outer sleeve with no edge scuffing or obvious creasing (just the odd very light surface crease mark - adjacent to the bottom half of the spine on side 1 for example - only just noticeable when the sleeve is tilted to the right angle in a good light), perfect corners, perfect 1st press "pinched" ends spine, just a few small and very light shelf wear abrasions (adjacent to the top edge and openning edge on side 2 - very trivial), and all colours/photos/art work remaining in outstanding condition; original plain white inner with correct "PATENT NO..." & "MADE IN ENGLAND" texts & no seam splits or tears; terrific STEREO sound quality with no sticks, jumps, repeats, or skips, just the very occasional light background click (can only be due to the odd speck of dust caught in the grooves through decades of storage) and background crackle virtually non-existent. Every track makes for a great listen on this very rare 1971 folk gem...sit back and wallow in the haunting voice of the legendary Rosemary Hardman. Timeless!

Comes with original plain white "PATENT NO...." and "MADE IN ENGLAND" inner sleeve with no rips, no tears, no seam splits, no creasing or age discolouration and of course remaining fully functional. Note that I always use a new, plain white replacement inner sleeve for shipping purposes in order to protect the original.

In summary a truly wonderful condition copy of this very rare and sought after 1971 UK 1st press folk gem - very difficult to find 1st pressing copies in condition as impressive as this - the whole LP remains a wonderful listen and would be a welcome addition to any serious folk vinyl collection, only continuing to gain in value.

On the subject of postage, I take great care in the packaging of all items, using a proper vinyl thick cardboard "crucifix" style mailer along with at least two thick cardboard stiffeners. I take great care in separating the record from the outer sleeve in order to help prevent sleeve damage in transit and I always insert the vinyl, outer sleeve and inner into a clear plastic sleeve, thus adding further protection.

Mint

The records itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items, such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and /or creasing.

Very Good

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents are torn, stained and/or defaced

Poor

The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents are badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad

The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler
