RUMBLE !
1959 dowop group collection
This was part of a group of tremendous albums that Jubilee Records released in 1959. On this one, they've got four of their coolest dowop groups singing three songs each.
The Bop-Chords are heard here with their well-considered group sound hit "Castle In The Sky." The Channels did well with "The Closer You Are" but you'll also want to hear their other two tracks. The Continentals might not be so familiar, but their two uptempo tunes will surely make you a new fan, and their ballad "Dear Lord" is pretty cool too. Finally, the Love-Notes turn in a pair of ballads that are a cool little surprise.
This album was originally released in 1959 on Jubilee, and this pressing is from sometime in the early '60s and is on Josie Records, as shown.
