Ultra Rare 1963 Original Mono Gold & Black Parlophone Labels THE BEATLES PLEASE PLEASE ME - PMC 1202 - this record has a set of very rare "Crossover Labels" as Side 1 has 'Northern Songs Ltd.' listed while Side 2 has 'Dick James Mus. Co.' listed !!! Offered is an original copy of The Beatles Please Please Me LP as issued on Parlophone PMC 1202 in March 1963. This copy is likely one of the first 1000 copies issued as it's got the original 'Dick James Music Co.' label as Side 2 and because they ran out of the 'Dick James' Side 1 labels, this LP got the crossover label for Side 1 which lists 'Northern Songs Ltd' as the publisher on several Side 1 songs. For those collectors who wish to have a complete collection of all versions and rarities of Please Please Me, this record is for you! This record is quite rare! The cover is a first issue jacket made by Earnest J. Day & Co. Ltd., London. plus on the front cover the photography credit is right justified! "Photo: Angus McBean". The jacket is overall in Very Good condition. It does have some issues as there is some light water staining you can see at the bottom of the front and back sides. The bottom seam is mostly complete with some tattering near the spine. The spine is complete except for the very top and the very bottom with most of the printing there except for the word "The". The top seam is split 2" at the top left side and then there is another 4" seam split near the mouth on the top seam. But the front cover displays very nicely overall with only a few small creases near the edges.
The vinyl at first look appears quite nice and would grade between Very Good and Very Good+. There are only a few small scratches and the record is quite enjoyable to listen to. Both labels are in Very Good condition and both labels have a set of initials in black ink, "EV", they are hard to see even in normal light because of the dark colored labels. No skips or jumps HOWEVER there is a small edge warp that I had to reset my tracking to 2 grams in order to play through this edge warp without skipping. So if you're tracking at less than 2 grams, I would advise against playing this record. Because of the edge warp we are grading the vinyl Very Good. It also comes with the original inner sleeve in VG- condition as it's got a side split plus some tattering along the top edge.
