Description

Up for auction is the rare Avante Garde Jazz/World Music LP "Music For Solo Performance (for enormously amplified brain waves and percussion)" by Alvin Lucier released by Lovely Music #VR 1014 from 1982. Visually graded using Goldmine standards, the vinyl rates as an excellent with beautiful shine and very light surface wear which can be seen under high power lights. The jacket is a VG+ with no splits or ring wear, but has some corner creasing. Overall a beautiful copy of this hard to find LP. Low starting bid and no reserve. Record will be shipped in a sturdy LP mailer with record outside the jacket within protective sleeve.

Alvin Lucier (born May 14, 1931) is an American composer of experimental music and sound installations that explore acoustic phenomena and auditory perception. A long-time music professor at Wesleyan University, Lucier was a member of the influential Sonic Arts Union, which included Robert Ashley, David Behrman, and Gordon Mumma. Much of his work is influenced by science and explores the physical properties of sound itself: resonance of spaces, phase interference between closely tuned pitches, and the transmission of sound through physical media.
