Here's a Rare very tough to find Modern Soul Funk Lp titled Its Summer by Marlon Hunter along with the Group The Standards Of Living.Looks to also have The Robinson Brothers(Larry and Chucky) and others.Record says Produced by Willie Wilson and Sweetwater for Master Marlon productions Oakland Ca.Not sure of the number of Lps of this they pressed but I believe it was a pretty low production. The cover has original shrinkwrap still attached.Shrinkwrap has a small tear hole near the upper left corner. The cover underneath shrinkwrap looks pretty nice with no seam splits.Has a little wear on the upper right corner.Back cover underneath shrink has a small stain near upper left corner and also a small stain on lower left corner Please see pictures.Front and back cover look to have a few light brown age marks.Has some age yellowing on very edge where record slides out on area that shrinkwrap does not cover. The record does have a curl warp on part of the very first song only which is mostly seen when holding record in the perfect angle of light.I play tested the area and this does not affect play at all. When record spins on turntable and looking sideways at very edge the warp looks like a small warp only. But it can be seen better looking at top of record on grooves as its a curl warp. Its only on about half or slightly less than half of the beginning of first song on side one as edge is curled up a little. Can be seen on side two as well but not as much. All the pictures I've taken of the warp are all from side one on same area.Side one of record looks to have approximately 20 very light to light scratches with 5 small scratches that are feelable with fingernail.Has some scuffing and a little wear on grooves mostly on last song but side still has lots of shine.Side two of record has lots of scratches with only 3 of them that are actually feelable with fingernail.Alot of the scratches were caused by scuffing and not an actual needle as there are multiple scuffing marks and lines mostly on top half of record from the 10 O' Clock to One O' Clock area of record. This side actually plays very well.Side also has a very small white colored mark on second song near end of song.Is not feelable at all with fingernail so I believe its a very small pressing flaw which doesn't affect play at all. Also two very tiny white dots on trail off area not on grooves at all.Very tiny only and also not feelable. Some wear on grooves but still has lots of good shine.I play tested both sides and wrote a detailed note of how each song plays.Side one first song title Did You Forget My Number plays very well with a few light light ticks only.Song two is a long song at over 13 minutes and is titled Summer. This song starts with what I counted as 37 very light to light ticks and one pop during play of first 4 minutes of the song. Most or at least a very good number of the ticks were very light only. These were heard on the softer part of the song so that's probably why they were able to be heard. The next 5 or so minutes of song plays very nicely with no ticks or pops then 10 very light ticks can be heard.Last 3 and 1/2 minutes which is a very funky part of song there is no ticks or pops at all.Side two of record plays very nicely.Song one is titled Cut Up Mr Kool. This song plays Terrific with only one very light tick and one light tick the entire song.Second song is titled It Was Your Love. This song has 4 light ticks before song begins then plays with 5 ticks the rest of entire side.Song 3 is titled Blowin' My Mind which is very Funky. This song plays Beautifully with no pops or ticks at all.Last song song 4 is titled Summer Essence. This song plays with one pop near beginning then has only one very light tick the rest of entire song. This side plays great.Really a tough one to find in any condition. The warp does not affect play and just glancing at record its not real noticeable but is pretty noticeable when light hits it at the right angle.
