Brief Review:
I have both the German pressing and the new one. I'm not a professional reviewer or anything but this new remaster is on a different level. The EU (German) pressing is real good don't get me wrong. I don't think the new one makes it sound like crap or anything. The new one is just better. I did some comparisons this past weekend and my fiance noticed a significant difference immediately. If I had to describe it, I would describe it as more detailed. The bass and drums sound even better and as a whole the recording seems larger and more immediate. It is just a little more revealing. I would give the German a 8.5/10 and the new one 10/10. The difference could be comparable to what I've heard people say about the Nirvana EU pressings compared to the ORG Reissues from the master tape. I hate to encourage people to spend extra money if you already own the German reissue but if you love this album get the reissue. It's one of the best modern rock remasterings that I've heard and I've bought quite a few. I tried my best not to lace any my thoughts are insights with hyperbole. I will say this album rocks.
