ITEM DESCRIPTION:

This outstanding and handsome LP from Spanish Decca (SXL 2006, black/silver WB FFSS, stereo, Spanish pressing) features Ruggiero Ricci's legendary accounts of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor Op. 64 and Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor Op. 25, both recorded with conductor Pierino Gamba and the London Symphony Orchestra in the fabled acoustics of London's Kingsway Hall on 15-16 January 1957 (producer: Erik Smith / engineer: Cyril Windebank).

Pressed circa 1970 by Columbia, S.A. in Madrid, these superb Spanish pressings are every bit the equal of their English and Continental counterparts and will please the historical or audiophile collector in equal measure – bid with confidence!

CONDITION:

The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.

The condition of the jacket is EXCELLENT. There is minor ring wear and aging, as well as a small bit of writing on the reverse side of the jacket, but that is all. There are no seam splits or other defects and the jacket remains solid, glossy and attractive – overall, an excellent collector's copy.

The condition of the LP itself is near-MINT. Though the surfaces are not perfectly silent (and thus I have rated it NM vs. MINT) this is a fine copy and playback is superb. If you must have flawless surfaces, then please do not buy this LP. Overall, this rates as a NM collector's copy.
