Description
Great playing copy of the classic Stones album "Out Of Our Heads" on 3-3/4 IPS reel-to-reel tape. Typical Ampex 4-track, 1/4" tape. Released in 1965, catalogue number LPX-70098.
Play tested all the way through and I didn't notice any issues. Sounds great, very fun to listen to. Really cool piece of Rolling Stones memorabilia. Maybe playing it was a mistake, because now it's harder to sell it...
First couple feet of tape are brittle and wrinkled, but it soon smooths out, long before the music begins. There's a very generous amount of lead-in on this particular tape. To the point that you start to wonder if the music is ever going to start. But then it does! The bass mix on "Mercy, Mercy" is ridiculous. Then when you get to side 2, "Satisfaction" is awesome.
Box is really pretty good for being 53 years old. It shows some wear and aging, but no split corners. One tiny split on one side. See pics for details.
