Description
From the mid-Hippie era of the 60's, this is a vinyl lp from American, San-Francisco psych group SALVATION. It's GYPSY CARNIVAL CARAVAN in good condition.It is ABC Records #ABCS-653, stereo. Sounding often like COUNTRY JOE & THE FISH, this band delivers the goods in spades...a wild, long, tripped-out jam along with plenty of hallucinatory sound effects and breaks, along with freak vibes of acid love!!! Tracks include HOLLYWOOD 1923, HANDLES OF CARE, YUK YUK, IN THE EVENING, SALVATION JAM, COME ON OVER HERE, & WHAT'LL i DO #42.
Most of the vinyl plays fine and looks great, but there are a few spots where the record skips, especially the first few seconds of side two and some scuffwear can be seen on the vinyl in those few spots. The gatefold cover with prolific notes fromFrank Kofsky from JAZZ & POP MAGAZINE shows some wear with slight split at the top, right-hand back side and a small rip at the spine. Also, there is a punch-out hole in the lower left section.
Not the greatest condition, granted, but still a nice rarity to covet in your psych collection and overall plays well if you dont mind a couple of skipping spots. Very hard to find on vinyl!
