Extremely hard to find blues/prog crossover album with stunning songcraft, a lost classic!!! ANOTHER FINE VINTAGE RECORD FROM MY PERSONAL ARCHIVE. OF COURSE ALL PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL ITEM FOR AUCTION. THIS IS THE FANTASTIC 1969 BLUES/ PROGROCK ALBUM, A VERY FIRST STEREO DECCA UK PRESSING & IN ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC CONDITION. VERY RARE LIKE THIS. RECORD SKL. 4994 with matrices ZAL-8682-2W and ZAL-8683-1W. BOTH SIDES ARE IN PRISTINE EX++ to NM CONDITION. SOUNDS FANTASTIC. THIS VINYL HAS THE CORRECT INNER RIDGE AROUND THE LABEL INDICATING AN EARLIEST HEAVY PRESS!!!!!!!!!!!! THE SINGLE COVER (LAMINATED FRONT/ UNLAMINATED BACK) WITH PEEP HOLE IS ALSO IN FANTASTIC CONDITION HAVING BEEN KEPT SINCE NEW IN A PLASTIC COVER. WOULD BE HARD TO FIND THIS BETTER. SEE THE PHOTOS & JUDGE FOR YOURSELF. COMES COMPLETE WITH THE BLUE STEREO CODED ANTI STATIC INNER. Very heavy vinyl in EX++ condition and really close to NM.
Blue Matter is the third album by the band Savoy Brown. Teaming up once again with producer Mike Vernon, it finds them experimenting even more within the blues/psych framework. Several tracks feature piano (played by Bob Hall, guitarist Kim Simmonds, and vocalist Chris Youlden, who even plays guitar here) as well as trombone. This album featured a mix of live and studio recordings. The live tracks were recorded at the now defunct City of Leicester College of Education , because the band was scheduled to tour the USA and needed additional tracks to complete the Album in time for the tour. The college had booked the band to perform a few weeks prior to the tour and the booking represented their only chance to record the extra tracks. An offer to perform the concert free of charge was accepted by the college and the concert was duly recorded, a number of the live tracks being added to the album. As always working within the blues/psych territory this album was nevertheless quite experimental with prog leanings.
Vinyl: EX++ to NM. I have played this in full> There are NO jumps, NO clicks and NO sticks!!! . Under an intense light it looks NM. The audio is stunning all the way and this album sounds fantastic and was totally underrated at the time. It totally went under the radar and is now extremely scarce whether as a mono or stereo recording!! The boxed Decca label is as uncommon as the unboxed one for this album. commercially it never set the world alight.
Sleeve: EX. No stickers, NO writing, NO smudges. Two light corner creases. the spine is 100% as are the edges!! Hard to find such a superior copy like this. A very thin flimsy sleeve that is in far far better than average shape. This will make a great addition to any blues/psych/prog collection. Light age spots to the back, see pic. A rare Moore & Matthes Ltd. sleeve. This is a beauty that will not come around very often. Most are now in major collections across the world.

This is a unique investment opportunity!!! Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible so late in the day esp. in this formidable condition.
