COLUMBIA SAX 2369 -2372 Mozart  Don Giovanni  4 LP Box  Set 

I have acquired a large classical collection of wonderful recordings from a very keen and dedicated collector.

All records are inspected very carefully and 

Gradings are based on Record Collector magazine.

I try to only offer recordings in a minimum of excellent Condition unless it is something particularly rare when I will do my best to describe any visual or audible flaws

Giuseppe Taddei. Piero Cappuccilli, Graziella Sciutti   Turquise/silver stereo label.?

In original inner sleeves.?With original Columbia insert .  ?

Side One : Overture, Act Scene 1

Side Two : Act 2 Scene 2, Act 1 Scene 3

Side three : Act 1 scene 3 continues

Side Four : Act 1 scene 4 , Act 1 Scene 5

Side five : Act 2 Scene 1

Side six : Act 2 Scene 2

Side Seven : Act 2 Scene 2 continued, Act 3, Act 4

Side Eight : Act 2 Scene 5 , and Scene 6 Finale 

Discs are visually very close to Excellent and audibly Excellent on side 1,side 5,6,7 & 8 

but there are some very faint surface hairline marks  on side 3 and 4  so being very strict this set  is as follows  

There are occasional very faint ‘tics' - More specifically

SAX 2359

Side One    Excellent throughout

Side Two     has 2 very faint pops for 1 rev midway

SAX 2460

Side three   

has 2   faint pops for 1 rev towards end of band   

Side Four   Midway has   a number of light  pops and faint crackle for about 2 minutes with 

what sounds like a mild scuff mark for about 13 revs

Side five  and six  - Excellent Throughout

SAX 2462

Side seven and eight  - Excellent Throughout

So again being very strict  Discs are mostly Excellent Condition  ...Box is in Excellent condition with just a little wear in the bottom right corner as in photo 3 

and just faint evidence of wear on the bottom edge as in photo 4 complete  with original Decca inner sleeves and insert and even the original inner protecting cardboard sheets - 

The only other issue is that the previous owner has written a discreet  S number  on the front  top left corner of each inner sleeve in red pen ( It was his own catalogue system) 

This is of course over 50 years old now and is surprisingly good shape for its vintage.

Don Giovanni is probably Mozart's greatest opera and its worth repeating the well known story that such

was his casual genius 

that he wrote the overture to this opera the night before its opening in Prague in 1787

A Superb set   Jolly rare and highly regarded    A complete treat and in lovely condition
