SAX 2387 B/S Brahms Piano Concerto No.1 Claudio Arrau - STUNNING CONDITION!
This is one of a number of vinyl records from the 1950’s & 60’s listed this week which we no longer listen to. Little played, the records are still in very good condition, the covers sometimes less so. This week I am Listing a number of great Classical Piano recordings. You may like to have a look at the other ones. Gradings are based on the “Record Collector Magazine's Guide” set out in the eBay Guides together with notes about condition added. Extracts from the Gramophone Magazine review written at the time of the record’s release are included where these are available.RECORD GRADING
EXCELLENT
This is a superb copy of this classic Columbia recording on the Blue and Silver label. Both sides still shine and are almost entirely without surface marks. It has really been well looked after.
The record plays excellently and is a joy to listen to such is the quality of the recording. There is almost no recorded surface noise and the record is almost completely free of any intrusive sounds throughout.
COVER GRADING
EXCELLENT
The cover, which is made of the heavier card, is quite excellent. There is no damage. The tips of the corners are just a little rubbed and, dependant on how the light falls, sleeve rubbing can be seen on the front surface. The back is exceptionally clean with just a couple of light marks toward the top and a small split (probably a repair) on the bottom binding strip - just visible in the photograph. The EMI "Important" inner sleeve is clean and undamaged with some creasing at the corners.
This is a wonderful recording and, in this case, on a record and with a cover which are both in exceptionally good condition.
