Description
An excellent condition and complete example of the original jewel cased 1968 EMI UK reel to reel 3 & 3/4 ips mono tape release of "Sgt Pepper" by The Beatles complete with the "Emitape" leaflet, the packing/warranty slip, Cat No TA-PMC-7027. More collectible than the first card box issues because they were released in much smaller numbers. They also represent the last of the final mono reel to reel Beatles tapes at the back end of the 1960s, before the new replacement stereo tape cassette format was to be introduced fully in late 1970.
Played throughout. The sound is perfect with no edits, breaks or fade outs.
Clean and exceptionally nice jewel case - no cracks or missing pieces, intact and unbroken spool, printed white Part 1 leader tape for the mono version (The stereo version has a yellow leader tape) and red trailing Part 2 leader tape, no pen markings/writing, no stains/marks to insert. Rare purchases in comparison to the vinyl LP in the 1960s, usually by audiophiles wanting top quality sound. Often ordered by the customer by special order, as some retailers did not stock them. Please see all photographs.
Played throughout both sides and tested - perfect. Emitape leaflet and packing slip like new.
Glorious mono can be played on four track stereo tape recorders as well as twin track machines. The "Sgt Pepper" mono mix was the mix that The Beatles themselves were involved in, and chosen by them. Different in quite a few respects to the stereo mix as detailed in my "Guide To Beatles UK LP Albums 1963-1970" (see my other items)
Please see my other original Beatles tapes for sale, and "A Guide To Beatles Reel to Reel Tapes 1963 - 1970".
