Description

RARE ORIGINAL 10" BLUE VINYL WITH THE FREE PINK VINYL 7" EP BY JOHN DOWIE.
OK, LAST CHANCE. THIS ITEM HAS BEEN UP FOR TOO LONG. I AM NOT REDUCING FURTHER. ITEM WILL BE TAKEN DOWN AT CLOSE OF THIS LISTING. NO OFFERS PLEASE. IT HAS BEEN AT A GOOD PRICE COMPARED TO DISCOGS. AND I DO NOT HAVE THE POSTER, CLEARLY I WOULD HIGHLIGHT THIS.

Very good condition for this quite rare live mini-lp. Especially rare to have the 7" pink vinyl John Dowie EP. No poster though (probably ended its days on someone's flat wall in the late 70's!).
The 10" cover has some edge wear and ring wear as you can inspect in the photos. The inner sleeve is very good with no tears. The blue 10" vinyl is very good plus, and I have just played it right through to confirm this. There are some light marks visible but they seem to be pretty inconsequential.  The cover of the 7" is however near perfect. The pink vinyl is excellent.
The blue vinyl was limited to 5000 copies. Not all came with the pink vinyl 6 track 7" by John Dowie. Rarely seen on this auction site.
I will post in a proper 12" mailer with added protection. The vinyl will be packed outwith the two sleeves in a separate paper liner.
I have tailored plastic sleeves for both the 7" and the 10".
Postage charges cover actual costs and taking into account eBay charging 10% on postage too.

Notes Blue vinyl edition.
Some copies included a pink vinyl 7" version of John Dowie's "Another Close Shave".
Some copies included a dark blue promotional poster (folded in six segments) that contained a circuit diagram, band and location details, and the promotional blurb:
"First 5,000 colour pressed on fashionable blue vinyl. Electric Circus. In handy shoplifting size. 10" for £2.99. Out now on Virgin VCL5003"
The 7 inch was totally random - it was included with blue, black and even orange promo copies with the original catalogue number VCL 5003 and blue Virgin labels. Some of these randomly had an orange sticker to say there was an included 7 inch. Some had no sticker but still included the 7 inch. Some had a full promo poster with or without the 7 inch. It was utterly random. The only consistent fact is that all blue vinyl versions had a sticker stating they contained blue vinyl. Even here this was slightly misleading, as ALL orange promo copies also had the same "Limited Edition On Electric Blue Vinyl" sticker.
July 1 1978 edition of Sounds (UK music paper) contains a half-page advert which states "First 5000 colour pressed on fashionable blue vinyl. Electric Circus. In handy shoplifting size. 10" for £2.99."
