SIDE 2. Happiness Stan / Rollin' Over /The Hungry Intruder / The Journey / Mad John / Happydaystoytown...... the classic psych fairytale narrated by Stan 'The Man' Unwin in finest gobbledegook....brilliant.
This is an original UK 1st pressing /1st issue of the classic 'concept' album OGDENS' NUT GONE FLAKE by the SMALL FACES. A stereo copy with the first pale lilac coloured labels (do not confuse with the 2nd issue which has a deep pink label - take care!) .
1st issues are also identifiable by the label wording ' For Amazing Results This Record Should Be Played At Full Volume' which appears above the 'Immediate Record Co.Ltd.' printed wording on side 1. Side 2 will also display credits to Glyn Johns and Stan Unwin to the left of the spindle hole and not at the bottom of the label. The cover manufacturer Garrod & Lofthouse have their name printed inside on one of the blank circular panels.
Anyway, this very early stereo original on Immediate IMSP 012 bears stampers on the run-offs of IMSP 012 1Y and IMSP 012 2Y for sides 1 & 2 respectively with no numerical suffixes e.g -2 -2 . Has '1' stamped at 9 o'clock and 'M' stamped at 3 o'clock on both sides.
Fully play-tested before going to auction.
VINYL.... visually VG and plays VG. There are no deep scratches, no groove wear, no nasty scuffs, no loud clicks and no skips. Plays with some light surface crackles mainly on the blank wax areas & quieter passages but nothing severe which causes distortion on the actual tracks. It has the occasional moderate pop but these are very few indeed (two on run-in side 2, 4-5 in total). Clean labels. White inner sleeve is definitely a circular replacement (from memory I think the vinyl was originally in just a lightweight polythene sleeve).
COVER ...Printed & made in England by G & L. A notoriously fragile cover which, at the age of 42 , has required a couple of the 'hinges' connecting the circular panels to be strengthened and repaired neatly. Other than that it's in VG+ condition with some mild edge wear but with no serious damage. Back cover (i.e. bottom of 'tin' ) states UK Patent Application No. 21639/68 .

Record Gradings
Mint = Unplayed, undamaged, possibly still sealed in shrinkwrap. Accompanying booklet, lyric sheet or poster should be perfect. Should play without fault.
Excellent = Played but very well cared for, may have some hairlines or paper grazes on playing surface but none which are significantly audible although perhaps the occasional micro-noise similar to static may be present. Cover may have very light general wear or crease/light corner fold but no rips/splits.
Very Good = Played many times but plays well without major deterioration in sound quality. Playing surfaces may have some marks and /or a few superficial scratches which will be no more than lightly audible . Cover and paper contents may have general signs of usage and storage without significant damage.
Good = Heavily played with noticeable surface marks and/or scratches which will be audible, possibly throughout. No skips or jumps despite the prescence of some crackles, clicks and pops. Cover and paper contents may have heavy creases, edge scuffs, stains, annotations, splits and discolouration.
