Sonny Rollins "Saxophone Colossus" (Prestige, PRLP 7079, Mono, 1956)
A copy of the original Prestige mono issue of Sonny Rollin's greatest record. SR w/ Tommy Flanagan, Doug Watkins, and Max Roach. Original Prestige mono release: DEEP GROOVE, FIREWORKS black and yellow labels, RVG etched in grooves, 447 West 50th Street, New York 19, NY to foot of sleeve (rear). Original wax inner sleeve! EX/EX: Bright sleeve with small chips to the head and foot of the label edge; light bumping wear visible at the front side of the open edge; light soiling around the edges of the rear side; but - very sound edges and seams, still very attractive label edge. Very clean labels with light wear at the spindle hole of the B side. Visually, the record is pretty darn clean - there's one scratch in the groove of the A side (at "St. Thomas") and a hairline running across "St. Thomas" and "You Don't Know What Love Is"; hints of light needle mark to the B side and 3 tiny extrusions (divets?) at the close of "Blue Seven". Aurally, light static evident from time to time, never intrusive; one soft click on the A side; one louder click early in "Blue Seven" and 3 soft knocks at the very end of "Blue Seven" (hard to distinguish from the bass work, but there). A very strong listen. Many pictures provided; please take a look.

For the US, we usually prefer to ship everything USPS priority mail or first class with a delivery confirmation number. Priority mail offers average 2-3 days delivery of shipment. Other methods of shipping are available upon request. Postcards, photos, and flat items will be shipped priority mail for best service. We will ship worldwide. PLEASE NOTE:international buyers please be aware of currency exchanges and we will assess shipping rates accordingly. If there are specific exporting problems involving the item that you won, let us know about this ahead of time please.
