LP : Sahib Shihab – Sahib's Jazz Party

Out of print Japanese deluxe-edition by THINK !, THLP 104. Beautiful Limited edition, heavy 200 Gram vinyl, 1:1 original cover artwork, this issue even has the 2 stickers with the Debut-catalogue number on (pl. look at the 2 detail-photos of that), insert, OBI, the record is stored separated from the cover in an extra plain white extra- cover. Outstanding sound-quality, mono. The best & rarest of all Japanese pressings. Originally released 1964 on Danish DEBUT RECORDS, DEB 141, and on Dutch FONTANA, 688 604 ZL. Recorded at Montmartre Jazzhuis, Copenhagen, Denmark on October 3, 1963. Shihab's first European release, a killer live-set with an amazing line-up, a bossa cover-version of the „Charade“ soundtrack plus 4 tracks by Shihab. Outstanding Modal Jazz and Hard-Bop at it's finest, highly recommended.

„Conversation“ is also included on another record of my auctions: a Dutch Original of „International Jazz Workshop 1964”, ft. Sahib Shihab, Hans Koller a.o. I also offer an original 1970 VOGUE pressing of „Sahib Shihab – Companionship“ in my current auctions.

You can listen to several tracks on youtube or other places in the www.

Due to the heavy vinyl and due the two covers the weight of the parcel is more than 500 Gram.

Line-up: Sahib Shihab/Altsax, Baritone Sax &Flute - Allan Botschinsky/Flügelhorn - Ole Molin/Guitar - Niels -Henning Ørsted Pedersen /Bass - Alex Riel/Drums - Bjarne Rostovold/ Snare Drum ( on “Charade”)

Condition: the record has been played only a few times, it looks & plays in mint-. The cover, the insert and the OBI are as new, (more mint than) mint-. Please look at all 8 photos.

Grading & Cleaning:

• all records have been cleaned on a professional record cleaning machine, either by me (Hannl Mikro) or by the pre-owners (Okki Nokki, Loricraft or the like). After cleaning the records have been played just a few times (or only once by me for playgrading)

• I playgrade each record (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, high-end Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN/ EMT TU-3 SFL (please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment)

• I also visually grade cleaned records in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

• only an unplayed record is mint, my highest grading for a used record is mint- . My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg

• cleaned records are stored in a new pro innersleeve and they are placed in a PVC protection-sleeve

• pl. note: even pro cleaned records may have received some dust particles during visual-/play-grading, photographing or few pre-owner playbacks
