THIS ALBUM DOES NOT EXIST! And yet here it is. IT EXISTS!
For anyone who owns a first pressing of The Stooges' self-titled first album with a red label, I have to tell you: That's not a first pressing, this is. The Stooges debut album with a GOLD Elektra label.
Great cover art of Detroit's finest hoodlums smiling and frowning at the camera. Mostly frowning.
Cover is in beautiful condition with virtually zero ringwear on the front and minor ringwear just beginning on the back. A promo/delete hole in the lower left corner. This a pasteback cover, unlike the later red label copies.
This has the USA Elektra address on the back cover, and no printing on the spine at all. May be Canadian.
Vinyl has faint sleeve scuffs and angelhairs that don't affect play. Looks almost like it's never been played.
The photo does not do the label justice. The label on this record is not a flat tan label, it is a shiny gold label, similar to the Doors debut record.
Inner wax codes are: EKS-75041-A and EKS-75041-B.

So here it is, the rarest version of rock and roll's Holy Grail in phenomenal condition. The true first pressing of the first punk record ever. Not to mention psych, garage, freakbeat, hard rock, and alternative.
A very rare and enjoyable piece of rock and roll history.
