SUPER RARE ELVIS PRESLEY PROMO ONLY 45 AND SLEEVE SP-45-76 (Wear My Ring/Don't)

This record and sleeve were issued to selected DJs in 1960 to promote the release of Elvis' "50,000,000 Elvis Fans Can't Be Wrong" LP (Gold Records Vol. 2). This is a promotional-only release that offered "Wear My Ring Around Your Neck" and "Don't". It's not clear which is the "A" side, if that even matters. The picture sleeve is unique to this issue.

Both the record and sleeve are extremely rare, the sleeve appears to be the rarer of the two. These are listed in Jerry Osborne's "Money Records" book, a listing of the 1000 most valuable records, at number 164.

The matrix numbers (steel stamped in the dead wax):

Wear My Ring: J2 WW0181-1S

Don't: H2 PW5529-1S

Visually graded, the record appears just a bit shy of NM. I would call it VG++, but some people frown on that grade.

The Ring side plays fine, the Don't side has some crackle in the quiet passages, and a few louder pops. No skips, no warp.

The sleeve has some problems. There is a bit of writing in ink on one side. Overall, there is some significant wrinkling, and a bit of discoloration. There is a small tear in the lower right corner (just on the album side).  There is a 2 inch seam split on the bottom, and very small tears at the top of each side seam (about 3/16 inch).
