"Songs of The Rolling Stones" was pressed in the early 1970s on ABKCO records, the label owned by then-Stones manager Allen B. Klein. It was not commercially distributed; the sleeve is clearly marked "Not for Sale or Air Play". Klein sent copies of the record out to managers and representatives of other artists in order to try to stimulate cover versions of Stones material. This would make money for him because he owned a slice of the band's publishing.

The record contains short snippets of thirty Rolling Stones songs starting from the beginning of their career up through "Exile on Main Street" (see full list and times below). The shortest clip is only a minute long, the longest less than three, and most are under two.

This record is EXTREMELY RARE. In a decade of dealing in used vinyl in New York City, this is the ONLY copy I have ever seen. On top of that, I don't think I have ever seen a record in as good condition as this one. The vinyl itself has just a few specks of dust on it, but NO SCUFFS, NO SCRATCHES, and NO FINGERPRINTS. The cover has just the faintest hint of ringwear and small bends at the top and bottom, mostly visible from the back.
