HERE IS ONE OF THE GRAILS OF THE EVER-COLLECTABLE DECCA WIDE BAND SXL 2000 SERIES...
THE VERY FIRST UK STEREO EDITION WITH THE BLUE TEXT ON THE REAR SLEEVE!!! THESE WERE ONLY IN PRINT FOR A BRIEF PERIOD, BEFORE BEING REPLACED BY THE MUCH MORE COMMON SECOND EDITION WITH THE BLACK TEXT ON THE BACK (WHICH ARE STILL RARE...)
THESE VERY RARELY SHOW UP THESE DAYS - ESPECIALLY IN SUCH LOVELY SHAPE WITH ORIGINAL DECCA FFSS INNER SLEEVE!!
Vinyl is EX+ : a few light non-feelable scratches on side 1 which do not affect play, no marks on side 2, both play great with very light crackle during the run-ins, great full sound, you can see why these pressings are so in-demand!!
Sleeve is VG++ : all laminate is intact but is bubbling at 3 corners which I have tried to show in the photos, light disc imprint, light rippling to front, light corner wear, few edge creases along bottom, back is still very clean, bottom flap has a crease to the right corner and some light damage but all intact, '41' has been written in biro in the top corners and the bottom right corner on back, no splits or tears, overall a lovely example which has held together very well
FFSS inner sleeve is EX+ : no splits or tears, light handling creases, all polythene intact, in fact this is probably the nicest I've seen!!
