A Critics View
This recording was published at the same time as Isaac Stern’s with Thomas Beecham conducting. The Gramophone magazine compared both recordings in detail and summed up.” The Swedish recording and performance as a whole are less intimate, more commanding than the English; less potentially good, more of an achievement; warmer but less subtle. Having heard both several times, I have no doubt that I should prefer to listen on future occasions to the Wicks-Ehrling production”.
Record Condition (Play graded throughout)
Prior to playing, the record was cleaned on my Moth Record Cleaning Machine. Playback equipment comprised a Thorens TD160, Linn Basik LVX Arm with Audio Technica AT-95E Cartridge.
The record was examined in normal daylight. There are a number of marks / scratches on both sides. (Please read below). The sleeve is in a relatively clean condition considering it's age (1953) with faint wear to the edges. The number 64 is hand written in the front top left corner and the rear right corner.
Side 1
Band 1 Faint occasional crackle throughout. No audible distortion and no repetitive ticks.
Side 2
Band 1 Faint crackle at the start becoming much quieter. No audible distortion and no repetitive ticks.
Band 2 Virtually silent surfaces throughout, with no audible distortion.

Noting any faults that I have listed above, if you find that the record is not as described and you are not entirely happy with your purchase, I offer a full refund of the purchase price plus your initial postage charges. I do ask that you pay the postal charges to return the record to me. The record will be supplied with a new Anti-Static (Nagaoka style) inner sleeve, and a new PVC protective outer sleeve.

I use dedicated record mailers with added stiffeners. The record will be posted within three working days of payment. The cost of postage is dependent on a number of factors; The value of the item sold, it’s weight and final destination.
