Here is the OUT OF PRINT Mosaic 6 lp set (MR6-110) The Complete Blue Note Recordings of Sidney Bechet. It is no.1531 of 7500 sets made. It includes the recordings made from June, 1939 through Aug., 1953 for Blue Note and subsidiary labels. It features performances by Bechet along with J.C.Higginbotham, Sid Catlett, Vic Dickenson, Art Hodes, Walter Page, Pops Foster, and many others. The performances are in chronological order with several previously unissued performances. The set also includes the always informative booklet with essays by John Chilton and Max Harrison, many photos and complete session reports, personnel, and discography. This is a definitive collection for the Bechet fan as well as the avid jazz historian/collector.
I'm rating the condition of the lps as near mint.I am the original owner of the set and have played them only once ! They play flawlessly. The book is also in perfect shape, no mars, scuffs of any kind. The box is also perfect, no tears, creases, etc. For all intents and purposes this set is as if it came directly from Mosaic.
