COLLECTOR'S ALERT! Silver Apples "Silver Apples" 1968 Kapp Records KL-1562/KS-3562 promo mono. This is that early version that has different catalog numbers stamped on the label and the sleeve. Plus, it's a hard to find white label promo copy. The sleeve on this copy is tragic, from a collector's perspective, given the pure gold inside. Obviously it's really old (52 years), made of a silvery, shiny reflective material--still shiny, which you can see from reflection problems I had in making the photo. But there is ring scuff, front and back, made clear by the shiny background (see cover photos). Some idiot tried to pick off the round sticker on the front and then chickened out (see main photo). I don't know what could or should be done, given what a significant record this is--I leave it to the next owner. There is no poster inside. However, you do get a very cool letter from the company to the radio station owners (again see photos). Vinyl is actually quite good. There are some light scuffs and scratches, but amazingly (is it the mystical power of this incredible record?) they don't affect playback that much--there's just an occasional light pop or a bit of light crackling, here and there. Overall a solid copy of the media. If you don't know the significance of this LP, go do your homework and then visit this listing again. I think I'm offering something special at a great price. Just cleaned with a VPI wet-vac system and playing great. I'll pay the shipping via USPS Media Mail.
