Simon Dupree and the Big Sound Without Reservations

Hailing from Portsmouth (some misinformed websites state them as being Scottish!), Simon Dupree and the Big Sound were predominantly a 60s R&B band playing the local clubs and circuit. They were best known for “I see the Light” their first single, although it was “Kites” their follow up which firmly put them on the map much to the dismay of the band who viewed the tracks’ light psychedelic tone as being largely out of character and not reflecting the band who wanted to remain as a soul group. They made one album, “Without Reservations” before splitting in 69 although the Shulman brothers went onto to form Gentle Giant.
Sleeve: laminated flip-back front cover printed by Garrod & Lofthouse fully readable spine. There is light edge rub and small creases along the front edge, there are two small tears, top right and bottom right (see photos for clarification). Back (non-laminated) sleeve shows age related signs of handling/ grubby paw marks! Overall sleeve is Good+

Vinyl: Visually retains some gloss, although there is a slight dulling (see photos) has been played. Mainly feint hair lines/needle traces more visible under light, a few (4-5) non-feelable light surface marks which do not affect play in anyway probably more VG at best, VG- at worst depending on your grading
Audio: Plays through fine, 60’s Mono R&B sound - no skips, sticks or jumps, does have some light static crackle in between tracks/run in, but it is very light and not obtrusive (no background noise) a few random pips (very few and gone before you noticed them) played on Project carbon - blue Ortofon graded VG
I have tried to be honest and transparent in my description - the photographs form part of the description. Questions are welcome, don't hesitate to ask. I have good feedback (and positive comments) as both a buyer and seller, so you can buy with confidence. I have been a collector for 47+ years buying and selling records over the years to feed my changing habits. The few records I sell are either the results of upgrades or duplicates or a bit of thinning every now and again as this is. If anything is not as expected, please contact me straight away and I will do everything to resolve any problems without argument.
I strictly adhere to the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide using one + or - as an additional guide:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
