Siouxsie and the Banshee's 1979 masterpiece, Join Hands, reissued for the US market, by Geffen, in 1983. Clear plastic inner sleeve. This was brand new when I purchased it in the late 80s and has been played only a few times since then--I copied my records to tape and usually listened to the cassette recording instead of the record. There is a small mark on side 1 running across the first two tracks. My research leads me to think this may be a manufacturing defect. This doesn't effect playback for track 2, "Regal Zone," but some crackling can be heard during the beginning of track 1, "Poppy Day." In my opinion, some surface noise like this is part of the vinyl experience and isn't too obtrusive. The rest of the album plays beautifully. This record marks the transition of Siouxsie and the Banshees' sound from the punk of their first album to the darker, more goth sound that they would frequently be known for. This was the last album to feature the original line-up of Siouxsie, Steven Severin, John McKay, and Kenny Morris. McKay and Morris would abruptly leave the band during this album's promotional tour. There's a bit of unease and tension about this record, but it adds to the overall atmosphere.
