Description
EXTREMELY RARE AND UNUSUAL 10" LP ON PRESTIGE LABEL - SONNY ROLLINS QUARTET, DATE 1952.
THIS WAS RECORDED AS SONNY ROLLINS WAS DEVELOPING FROM A PROMISING PLAYER TO A POTENTIAL GIANT. MOST OF HIS BEST-EVER RECORDINGS FOLLOWED SHORTLY AFTER THIS PERIOD.
PERSONNEL: SONNY ROLLINS - TENOR SAX; KENNY DREW - PIANO; PERCY HEATH - BASS; ART BLAKEY - DRUMS.
PRESTIGE RECORDS, 10-INCH (10") LP # PRLP 0- 137.
CONDITION: NM- vinyl / VG + cover. The vinyl is truly fine. It is bright and shiny with no indication of play. The labels on both sides are clean and free of spindle marks. There is some evidence of a split on the spine, and it has a 5" tape mark along the center of the spine and the spine paint is chipped. There is light rubbing on the top edge near the spine corner. There are two small numbers written on the back top edge. (Please see the pictures, the cover is really better than it sounds!)
The overall condition of the vinyl gives you great confidence for bidding! Yes, the cover has some edge problems, but not very distracting. The quality of the VINYL outweighs any concern you may have for the condition of the cover!
